About Server Security Scanner
Our Server Security Scanner online web tool allows you to scan your servers for security. You can provide an IP address or a URL for your server and our tool will scan the most common ports for security vulnerabilities. If you aren't a techie person, then you can use our server security scanner tool to see which ports are open and then you can notify your system admin to close the open ports where necessary.
SSH is generally configured to listen on port 22 and hackers always target this port to bruteforce the server. Although disabling the SSH password login or using a strong password is sufficient to protect your server against these attacks, but changing the port 22 to any other non-standard port will allow you to increase the security of your server to a great extent.
Once the SSH port 22 is blocked, the automated login attempts will fail before reaching your server. This will harden your server security greatly. Similarly, if MySQL port 3306 is kept opened for public unintentionally, that'd expose security threats as well. All these ports are scanned by our security scanner and it will let you know which ports need your attention.
